Get your mind ready for action!

As you are starting each day I believe you can be fully prepared for all that might happen. You may say, "we could never know and prepare for all that could potentially happen." How do you prepare when someone runs into you and totals your car? How do you prepare yourself when an unexpected call comes your way with bad news? How do you prepare for things you have No Control Over?

1st. You don't have control of anything.

-----The Bible tells us that we are not our own and that we were bought at a price. I always think about being a kid and how I would attempt to make the best flying and most durable paper airplane ever. I would fold the paper with great precision and press firm to make a tight crease. I would imagine that each fold was engineered to perfection knowing that the first fold (the foundation) was the most important. I thought the longer I took building it, the further and more aerodynamic it would be.

2nd. Your Creator created you in His image.

------No matter how detailed I was in building this paper airplane I could never match the creativity and perfection that the Lord had when creating you and I! The Bible tells us that we were fearfully and wonderfully made. He cares so much about His creations that He keeps up with the number of hairs on your head. As I finish up my creations of the paper airplane, I look and in my mind see perfection!

3rd. Do not think about your former ignorance.

------As I am preparing to throw my newly constructed paper airplane, the thoughts of the former paper airplanes never enter my mind. All I focus on is the joy and excitement of what this new one will bring. God made us a new creations in Christ when we accepted Jesus.  He even challenges us to die to ourselves and let Him live through our lives.

4th. He created us for good works which are already planned.

-----His mercies are new every morning. Now, just because the paper airplane is complete doesn't mean that it now can do whatever it wants. It can't just take off and fly through the sky on its own. I, the creator am still in control. I am the one who makes it take off. I am the one that puts it into motion. In the same way, as God is our creator, He is the one that lets us sleep at night. He is the one that wakes us up in the morning. He is the one that guides our lives. The Bible tells us "there is a way that seems right to a man, but it's way leads to death." Another scripture says that "a man plans his ways, but the Lord determines his steps."

We ultimately have been given choice, but a Christian who is willing to die to theirselves and who is willing to be lead by God can be fully prepared and ready for action. It all starts with the realization of who the  creator is and that He really is in control. I don't know about you, but even the most unexpected bad news isn't that bad when I know that my Creator is in full.control of my life.

Thank You Jesus for being my Savior and Creator and loving me enough to die for my sins. Thank You for waking me up this morning and Thank You for directing my path. Get Your Mind Ready For Action and go have a great day!

What to do while sitting in the office?

Occassionally i find myself sitting there believing I'm accomplishing something.  I strive daily to do what no one else is doing.  You've heard it said "someone somewhere is working to improve."  Are you working as hard as that someone?  Then I get on facebook or twitter and realize that there are so many people doing more than I am.  I get excited when i realize that my life isn't full of trying to make myself feel significant.

Here are a list of things I don't do that i see the majority doing:
  1. I don't hate mondays!
  2. I never "TGIF"
  3. I don't say something towards someone unless I post it on their wall.
  4. I never check in unless I say where Im going in a post.
  5. I don't worry about being deleted from facebook or being unfollowed.
  6. I never say "goodnight" to a very large group of people who could care less if I am going sleep.
  7. I respond to every single happy birthday post on my wall.
  8. I never use facebook to ask people to follow me on twitter.
  9. To this day I still don't know what being "Bored" and the letters "tbh" have to do with each other.
  10. I don't play TempleRun just to take a screen shot and let facebook see how much time I waste playing the game.
I notice all these things while sitting in the office on my computer. I realize that compared to a lot of other people that are my "so called friends" on facebook, my life is quite simple.  I'm thankful for this, and thankful for the time to rest and be still.

Even sitting in the office searching for something to do isn't a bad place to be!

The post on facebook and tweets on twitter that get my attention are those that speak of positive & encouraging things!

Keep the post and tweets coming!

Did today count?

Many of us had the opportunity today to make a difference somewhere, someway, or somehow. I know that personally looking back at the days events, there had to be some difference made, and not just talking about personal growth. I'm saying "did I make the things I chose to do today count?"

Think back to the last time you felt down in the dumps. Yeah your friends tried their best to cheer you up, but do you really remember that working?  For me the answer is "NO."  I know for me, I had to get over myself and look for an opportunity to serve someone else or do something that made a difference in someone else's life.

I think this is exactly the example God wanted us to see in the life of His Son Jesus Christ. As Jesus was praying in the garden, He was in torment, knowing the events that were about to take place. He even asked His Daddy, "please say no," but after he pleaded with His Father, He realized and still knew that to get over this torment and pain, He needed to love and serve others. Ultimately, He gave His life for you and I.

What a great way to determine whether our day truly counted! So I ask you, "Did You Make Today Count?"

I would love to hear your stories as to who and how you served someone today! Thank You Jesus for Your example.
